Glens Falls Hospital is seeking detail oriented Licensed Practical Nurses and Surgical Technologists like you to join our Operating Room team This opportunity will allow you to refine your surgical technologist skills while working closely with surgeons, registered nurses, and other professionals on our OR team. The Surgical Technologist role is essential for ensuring a sterile and efficient environment and procedure.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse/Surgical Technologist, you will be an important member of the surgical team. Our surgical team is an essential service to the community with 9,211 surgeries for the 2022 year.
The Surgical team assists patients with both day and inpatient surgeries in the following areas: general surgery, thoracic, urology, otolaryngology, cosmetics, and more Work with state-of-the-art equipment including the da Vinci Surgical System.

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential
Responsibilities
· Assist nursing staff with patient care in the surgical suite
· Manages equipment and supplies in preparation and during surgical procedures
o Assist in opening the sterile supplies in preparation for the surgical case
o Assist in assuring that surgeon preferences are accessible and current; assist the RN in selecting equipment and supplies
o Assure all equipment is functioning before use, removing any malfunctioning equipment from OR per hospital policy
o Assist in assuring that emergency equipment and supplies are available at all times
o Handle and count sponges, sharps and instruments
o Handle and store sterile/unsterile supplies using established principles of aseptic technique
