Job Summary: The Operating Room Technician performs assigned perioperative duties to assist the surgical team.

Minimum Requirements:

Graduate from an approved school of Operating Room Technology or Surgical Technology.  Certification in Operating Room Technology or Surgical Technology is prefer  * The "Essential" and "Non-Essential" functions of the job are listed due to the requirements of the American With Disabilities Act. The breakout of these different functions will not impact the Wage and Salary Program.  Ability to relate effectively to patients, their families, physicians, staff and all others using proper channels of communication.  Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.  The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age/specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's/area's/department's policies and procedures.  Must maintain current CPR certification Deliver outstanding customer service that upholds CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence.
