Surgical Support Technician (FT) - Loris

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.  

Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
Wears appropriate surgical attire.
Will have a working knowledge of sepsis and aseptic technique provided through orientation.
Checks cleaning supplies each morning.
Wipe down lights, booms, and tables prior to first case.
Takes dirty linen to soiled utility room.
Performs between case room cleaning and terminal cleaning according to standards.
Transports patients and beds to the Holding Room / Operating Room.
Demonstrates proper ID and safely transports patients.
Run errands in a timely manner
Obtains supplies, equipment or medication in a timely manner.
Helps to transfer patients to and from the operating room table. Stocks areas assigned by supervisor
Assist families to consult rooms when no volunteer is available.
Cleans sub-sterile and ante areas.
Maintains stock of oxygen tanks and carbon dioxide tanks.
Perform weekly cleaning of x-ray aprons and storage rooms
Assumes personal responsibilities for professional development and continuing education.
Responds to co-workers in a helpful, courteous manner. Respects, at all times, the confidentially of the patients records and facility operations. Uses complete discretion when discussing patient matters
 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education: 

HS diploma preferred/GED from an accredited school 

BLS certification
