Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, in partnership with Tufts Medical Center's Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, is seeking a full-time AP/CP BC/BE Surgical Pathologist with Cytopathology training to join our group of four pathologists.
How you’ll transform patient care:
Participate in intraoperative consultation/frozen sections
Sign out biopsies and large surgical cases
Provide on-site FNA evaluation for interventional radiology procedures and CP calls
Share AP and CP calls among the pathologists
Membership of various medical staff and hospital committees, acting as liaison between the medical staff, administration, and the laboratory
Opportunities to participate in educational and teaching activities at Tufts Medical Center
Who you are:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
Fellowship trained in Cytopathology, experience in Surgical Pathology, and experience in Transfusion Medicine, are desirable
Licensed and/or eligible to practice Medicine in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Excellent communication skills to interact with clinicians, administrators, and department staff
Why practice Pathology at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital:
The Department of Pathology is accredited by both the College of American Pathologist and the American Association of Blood Banks. The Anatomic Pathology service accessions approximately 12,000 to 13, 000 specimens annually including a variety of biopsies, large surgical specimens, and approximately 30 bone marrow cases. There are over 800 Non-Gyn cytology/FNA from different interventional procedures such as CT-guided, ultrasound- guided, and EBUS procedures. GU and breast services are expected to increase. There are over 11,000 GYN pap cytology (currently the GYN pap cytology cases are signed out in LabCorp).
