Mission Statement:

**Responsibilities**
The Outpatient Surgical Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works in collaboration with the Surgical Oncologist to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals, families, and groups facing cancer and related diagnoses. The APP plays a vital role in the outpatient setting, contributing to the delivery of high-quality care throughout the preoperative and postoperative phases. This role is focused exclusively on outpatient care, with no major inpatient or operating room responsibilities.
Essential Key Responsibilities:
+ Manage and implement surveillance clinics, such as the Pancreatic Cyst Clinic.
+ Perform in-office procedures, such as biopsies, to aid in cancer diagnosis.
+ Conduct thorough histories and physical examinations for new patients.
+ Present patients to attending surgeons as needed and help formulate treatment plans.
+ Order and review radiographic studies and laboratory reports for abnormalities.
+ Conduct routine follow-up visits and evaluate postoperative patients.
+ Address same-day patient needs, including office visits, prescription refills, and phone inquiries.
+ Educate, screen, and counsel patients on health maintenance, promoting community resource utilization for those living with cancer.
+ Maintain and manage clinical databases.
+ Perform quality assurance activities.
Additional Responsibilities:
+ Educate and counsel patients and families about their diagnosis, treatment options, and prognosis.
+ Coordinate closely with cancer center staff and nurse navigators to ensure appropriate patient flow.
+ Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
**Qualifications**
Education:
+ Master’s degree in Nursing OR Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant training program.
Certification and Licensure:
+ For Nurse Practitioners:
+ Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP).
+ Certificate of fitness through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
+ Licensed as an RN and CRNP in Tennessee and Georgia.
+ For Physician Assistants:
+ NCCPA certification.
+ State PA License for Tennessee.
+ DEA License required.
+ BLS and ACLS certification required.
Experience:
+ ≥1 year of clinical advanced practice preferred.
**Pay Range**
$48.26 - $57.67 /hour
