Surgical Business Coordinator
+ POSITION SUMMARY: + Includes activities required to run the operation, including planning purchases, negotiating procurement and coordinating budget, equipment, services and commodities. Develops the monthly and year end reports, and maintains volume statistics and graphs for reporting purposes using excel spread sheets. Coordinates and maintains PI and QA reporting for the department. Inputs and oversees all aspects of materials management for the department, including patient charging and verification, semi-annual inventory, product recalls, special requests for surgeries, repairs, and evaluation/selection of new products. Resolves patient billing and charging issues. Assists the manager of the department with preparation of the capital and operating budgets. Reviews monthly financial reports, writes budget justifications, reviews accounts payable reporting, and submits corrections. Attends Surgical Value Analysis Committee, and provides back-up clerical assistance when required. Prepares special reporting and completes special projects at the request of the Nurse Manager, Director of Surgical Services, and other departments. + QUALIFICATIONS: + EDUCATION: + Minimum: + High school or equivalent education. + Preferred: + Associate degree in business or other related field. + LICENSE: + PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS: + Minimum: + BLS through RQI + CPI within six months of hire into this position + WORK EXPERIENCE: + Minimum: + One year of experience in inventory management field. + Medical terminology experience or course completion. + Preferred: + Demonstrated skills in problem solving, logical thinking, and adult education. + Knowledge and understanding of physician and nursing practices, logistics, materials management, and patient charging in the OR. + Perpetual inventory control process knowledge. + Experience in trialing, evaluating equipment and supplies. + Experience with reading contracts. + SKILLS: + Minimum: + Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the people in a professional and courteous manner. + Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. + Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills. + Computer literacy + Must demonstrate ability to work under stress, and to be culturally sensitive during interactions with diverse populations. + Preferred : + Experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical records Salary Range: $22.64-$25.01
