Surgery Operations Analyst
Job Description

Job Summary:  

 

Under the direction of the Surgery Director, has primary responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective systems support for surgical services. Coordinates the charge processing and auditing for Surgical services, assuring charges are processed within established billing parameters. Determines appropriate method of processing and auditing charges, investigates clinical documentation discrepancies, coordinates necessary corrective action with the Surgical Director. Processes bill-only orders as submitted and follows PO until delivery to the appropriate party.

Registration/Certification/Licensure:  

Education/Experience

 The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a high school diploma. An Associates Degree is preferred. A minimum of three years of experience in the surgical field is preferred and a total of five years experience in a medical and/or administrative field is required. A candidate with Surgery, Finance or Material’s experience is preferred. 

Job Knowledge & Skills:

Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, in order to relate effectively with all internal and external customers, as needed.

Demonstrates a solid understanding of Surgery Services, functions, operations and processes.

Requires good judgment and the ability to work independently and proactively with decision making and

problem solving skills.

Demonstrates the quantitative, analytical, and organizational skills necessary to perform the essential

functions of the position in a timely manner and prioritize the workload effectively.

Requires the technical computer skills and knowledge necessary to effectively use various software,

hardware and computer applications.

Demonstrates the interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to

communicate successfully with staff at all levels. Also requires the ability to provide effective training.

Demonstrates the ability to lead and work closely with other staff in a team-based environment and maintain

positive working relationships and a customer-service orientation.

Demonstrates the skill necessary to use medical terminology and medical abbreviations and understand

their meaning.
