Ensure Safety is priority for the department.
To achieve departmental targets and KPI’s as deployed by the Business. Progress of these targets to be displayed clearly in the form of a ‘Mould Shop Dashboard’, or similar.
Ensure the departmental operations are performed to the correct quality specified on the drawings, routings, fundamental rules and any company procedures.
Use load levelling data to proactively resolve overload problems on key work centres and tasks, whilst bringing any issues to the attention of your senior leaders.
Achieve departmental efficiency targets as specified by senior management.
Maximise machine utilisation through monitoring OEE measurements and recommending and deploying improvements.
Supervise departmental activities whilst considering the departmental financial budgets.
Recommend and implement changes through the company procedures, that aid in the smooth running of the department.
Attend any meetings or reviews as required by the business.
Administer shop floor disciplines whilst creating a team atmosphere.
Ensure T.P.M. schedules are applied and managed across the Department and highlight any issues or improvements.
To implement lean (TEOA) tools ie SMED and 5S+1 throughout the business as and when required to the standards set.
To provide training and development programmes for staff within the Mould Shop via the appraisal system. To maintain high levels of staff versatility via the use of skills matrices.
Make competent use of skills and knowledge. Showing a willingness to contribute & learn.
Recommend cost reductions as appropriate in conjunction with the Component Manufacturing Manager.
Ensure all annual appraisals are completed on time, both by yourself and your reports.
Observe Health & Safety regulations as laid down in company procedures and Government legislation.
Ensure the Company’s personnel policies are adhered to.
Head up departmental quality groups and complete 8D reports.
Carry out any other reasonable tasks which may be requested from time to time

What your background should look like:A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong experience managing a team
Good planning skills required in maximising the production process.
No less than 5 years supervisory experience is required
Management related qualifications would be an advantage
