JOB SUMMARY

\n

The Supervisor of Clinical Services coordinates all activities of assigned employees in the clinical help for a practice. Works with manager to ensure practice is managed according to established standards. Provides overall day to day leadership and supervision of clinical employees and programs. Responsibilities include a wide variety of supervisory and coordination tasks including many aspects of site clinical services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

\n\nSupervises daily activities of clinical staff to ensure efficient operations, including ordering supplies for clinical area and handles duties of Medical Staff as needed.\nOrganizes work in an efficient and cost-effective manner, ensuring continuity of service.\nWork includes preparation and help with patient examinations, preparation of treatment rooms, collection of medical data, input of information for medical records, routine patient testing, and/or adminstration of routine medications, injections, and vaccinations.\nEnsures employees adhere to standards of behavior, corporate policies and practices, and patient satisfaction standards as they relate to both internal and external customers.\nOversees compliance, training and maintaining applicable license and certifications.\nServes as clinical onsite contact for Physicians, Administration and Staff.\nBuilds teamwork and maintains effective communication with direct reports, peers, other various departments and administration.\nPartners with leadership and necessary departments to investigate, resolve, and document resolution of patient complaints concerning services provided by practice.\nImplements plans with clinic leadership as they apply to the clinic staff supervised.\nWorks with next level leadership to implement changes consistent with clinic operational plans.\nRoutinely provides reports on operational metrics and explains variances against plan.\nOversees activities including interviewing, making hiring recommendations, orienting, evaluating, coaching, team building activities, and if necessary, assisting with disciplinary actions.\nMaintains safety of patients, family members, staff and self during all activities.\n\n

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

\n\nGeneral knowledge of health care modalities, therapies, terminology and equipment.\nBasic knowledge of the revenue cycle and how the work unit fits into the overall scheme.\nProfessional demeanor and appearance.\nGood problem solving skills.\nAble to relate to others including patients, employees, coworkers, senior management, vendors and general public.\nDemonstrated teaching and mentoring skills preferred.\nAble to make tactical choices around the allocation and direction of the work of supervised employees using established guidelines, policies and procedures.\nAble to make effective hiring and termination recommendations.\nAble to train, and evaluate performance of supervised staff.\nGeneral computer skills, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.\n\n
