The role
As a Supportability Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will oversee the daily management of complex assets, focusing on activities that ensure the safe maintenance and operation of Royal Navy submarines.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll conduct thorough reviews of Royal Navy submarine maintenance schedules, evaluate Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) studies, and identify and resolve any arising issues.  

 

Perform Availability, Reliability, and Maintainability (ARM) analysis on Royal Navy submarine systems and equipment to enhance operational performance. Evaluate the effectiveness of maintenance procedures. Justify maintenance strategies by engaging with various internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate closely with Ships Staff, Subject Matter Experts at Babcock, the Ministry of Defence (MoD), and other key stakeholders.

 

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home. You’ll be required to attend our site in Bristol once every two months.

 

Essential experience of the Supportability Engineer 

Extensive experience in engineering maintenance. Proficient in understanding and delivering technical requirements. Skilled in managing projects and tasks in a dynamic environment, ensuring on-time delivery within budget while meeting customer quality standards. Strong stakeholder management abilities, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Qualifications for the Supportability Engineer 

Degree in a relevant STEM discipline. Alternatively, qualification to HND/BTEC Level 5 in a relevant STEM discipline, supplemented by experience in a relevant engineering field. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or a clear plan to achieve this through an appropriate engineering institution.

 

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
