Support Services Manager SURGICAL SERVICES (BILLINGS CLINIC HOSPITAL) req9369 Shift: Day Employment Status: Full-Time (.75 or greater) Hours per Pay Period: 1.00 = 80 hours every two weeks (Exempt) Starting Wage DOE Develops objectives, policies, and procedures for department cost centers to formalize and implement the mission, vision, and values of Billings Clinic. Services include Surgical and Procedural Departments – Cath Lab, IR, OB, OR, PACU, Pre/Post and SPD. Ensure continuity and consistency across and throughout departments within the business unit. Maintains the standards, customer relations, and practice in Surgical Support Services. Assists with preparation and cleaning of supplies, instruments, and equipment; ordering and stocking of supplies and transporting, transferring and positioning patients. Essential Job Functions • Collect comprehensive data necessary to support Surgical and Procedural Line Services ex) FCOT, Room Turnover. • Analyze data to develop ideas and support decisions relevant Surgical and Procedural Line Services. • Facilitate and lead Process Improvement Initiatives to support Surgical and Procedural KPI’s • Develop training procedures and standard work for each ORT level which includes the Anesthesia support role • Identify expected outcomes for OR Technical Aides • Align with the Surgical and Procedural strategic plan to implement Develop the strategic plan and processes to attain expected outcomes for Support Services. • Provides support to other members of the team by obtaining and maintaining supplies, instruments, equipment, pharmaceuticals (excludes narcotics) and positioning accessories, cleaning and processing instruments, scopes and equipment. • Ensures appropriate cleaning procedures are maintained and followed. Cleans and maintains autoclaves, warmers, refrigerators specialty carts and emergency equipment. • Assists with OR, PACU, Preop and Anesthesia transporting, transferring and positioning patients as needed. • Performs errands to other departments as needed: laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, etc. • Obtains and records pre and post operative vital signs. Charts and documents in medical record according to protocol • Demonstrate ability to maintain appropriate monitoring records for process improvement and quality controls as assigned. Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess and improve quality. • Develops, retains, recruits, and leads a talented team committed to accomplishing the goals and objectives of Billings Clinic. Recommends, implements, and evaluates plans and systems that assure sufficient number of qualified and competent staff to provide care/services. Adheres to administrative policies and procedures relating to human resource management. • Develop and lead Participates in orientation, training and/or precepting of new staff. • Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory system and departmental requirements. • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve Surgical Efficiency, patient flow, Anesthesia services. • Use human and material resources efficiently to deliver safe, high-quality, and cost-effective sterile processing service • Provide guidance and coordinate education and competency verification activities for ORT regarding professional guidelines, recommended practices, and regulatory and accreditation standards pertinent to Surgical Services and Anesthesia. • Manage Surgical and Procedural Support Services operationally and fiscally. • Manage assigned projects skillfully. • Provide guidance, support, and constructive feedback to ORT and Surgical Team. • Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency environmental, employee or patient safety standards relevant to job performance. Minimum Qualifications Education • High School or GED • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree preferred in business, leadership or healthcare Experience • 5 years Perioperative Experience • 2 years Leadership Experience Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered. Employees that require a licensed or certification must be properly licensed/certified and the licensure/certification must be in good standing.
