SUPPLY TECHNICIAN
Summary You will serve as a Supply Technician in the Material Management Department (MMD) of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK. This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. Responsibilities You will ensure management and handling of communications security (COMSEC) material complies with current operational procedures, directives, and guidelines. You will provide assistance in defining, planning, developing, and administering procedures and techniques to achieve and maintain an effective and efficient carcass tracking system. You will develop and provides analytical data in the form of reports, charts, and graphs. You will recommend actions and compliance in support of program goals and objectives, organizational structure, and internal operating instructions and procedures for the Carcass Tracking Branch to the supervisor. You will provide data to supervisors, NAVSUP Weapons System Support (WSS), and internal or external customers as required. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting logistical and supply support. Examples of specialized experience should include some or all the following: 1) knowledge of supply policies and procedures related to material management; 2) Ability to review data using automated systems and reports; 3)Ability to ensure the management and handling of material complies with current producers, directives, and guidelines;4) Ability to apply and interpret established manufacturing terminology, data, standards, policies, and instructions to ensure timely delivery of material to customers.
