Supply Chain Specialist I

Job Summary 

Maintain, update, and reconcile inventory transactions for finished goods, purchased finished goods, raw materials, packaging display and maintenance items. Working safely is part of our culture and is a condition of employment. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Use a computerized inventory software system to research and reconcile inventory discrepancies.  

Work closely with Manufacturing, Distribution and Supply Chain to insure the perpetual inventory system is timely and accurate.  

Plan, monitor, and report results of cycle counts and physical inventories.  

Analyze and report on inventory age, balance, and coverage.  

Monitor and report on rework inventory. Track current balance, volume received, volume reprocessed and work with Quality department to insure batch control is maintained.  

Maintain Master Data in SAP is in the areas of Material Master and Bill of Materials.  

Monitor and report results of cycle counts at plants.  

Research and correct discrepancies and perform root cause analysis and recommend procedural changes as necessary.  

Monitor and report results of physical inventories.  

Plan and Purchase various finished goods.  

Assist as a department liaison to IT and other business partners on continuous SAP system improvement.  

 

Qualifications and Experience 

Educational attainment equivalent to high school graduation  

Considerable experience involving inventory control, purchasing and material management work using computerized databases  

APICS CPIM Certification Required 

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities 

Considerable knowledge of cycle counting, physical inventory procedures and record keeping requirements  

Knowledge of computerized inventory control systems, MRP and BOMs,  

Knowledge of MS Office Suites, and/or software applications related to job functions  

Strong math skills  

Strong PC skills, especially spreadsheets  

Ability to operate a computer to enter, update and retrieve information quickly and accurately  

Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
