OVERVIEW:

The Supply Chain Planner will drive and enhance the efficiency of product flow through the supply chain network from PO creation until store delivery by leveraging data and business knowledge.

Strategize with Merchandising, Logistics, Distribution, Vendors, Vertical Brand and PAR teams to ensure all orders, including Initials, Launches, and store set orders are planned and written using optimal ordering methods to promote efficiencies in meeting in-store dates and flowing through the DSG supply chain as efficiently as possible.

Collaborate with Vendors, Distribution, Business Intelligence, and other internal stakeholders during the rollout of company initiatives such as new store openings, high value product launches, expansion of vendor shipping capabilities, and training/educational opportunities.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Supply Chain Planning: Leverage data and business knowledge to influence Distribution Center Labor Modeling. Translate Open-to-Buy forecasts and other indicators to influence model inputs such as AUC, Break Pack %, and Units Per Carton. Discuss potential impacts to DC Budget with Finance Partners. Strategize optimal product flow through Optimal Ordering and Supply Chain best practices across merchandising through vendor testing, regular engagement with merchandising/Vertical Brand peers, and continual analysis of assigned product categories. Lead and organize monthly meetings with Merchant, AR, and Vertical Brand teams to promote Optimal Ordering efficiencies such as Pre-Packs, Pack by Store, Case Pack optimization, DC bypass opportunities, and regularly reviewing vendor capabilities. Collaborate with PO Operations team to create and maintain Purchase Order rules. Utilize SCI reporting dashboards to regularly communicate progress and opportunities to Supply Chain and Merchandising leadership regarding Product Flow.

Training and Collaboration: Lead cross functional collaboration to develop guidelines around SOP's and Best Practices for purchase order writing to support optimized product flow and gain efficiencies through the supply chain network including processes such as: Order Writing Best Practice class (HR RISE program), MTP supply chain rotational workshops, and DC Tours (with cross-functional partners or vendors). Additionally, lead vendor specific order writing classes in conjunction with vendor teams to improve merchant optimal order writing for order deadlines. This can include additional pre-meets with the vendor and creation of “one-page best practice” material for buying teams. Additionally, the SCI team will work with supply chain Business Intelligence team on continuous improvement and creation of reporting; including but not limited to the optimal order dashboard, merchant scorecard, and in-bound receipts dashboard.

Vendor/Vertical Brand Management: Conduct proactive meetings with key national Vendors, AR teams, Merchants, Vertical Brand Partners, and various other Teams as necessary to review and understand DSG business and Supply Chain requirements. This includes but is not limited to monthly review with top key national vendors (in partnership with Vendor Compliance team), individual vendor testing calls to assist during end-to-end testing process and provide analysis for leadership in preparation for top-to-top vendor meetings.

Project Management: Lead projects such as DC realignment, product launch & set tracking, and Black Friday key item tracking. Work with Merchant & AR teams in partnership with DCs to execute FedEx request for hot market and/or high-profile footwear launches. Manage bi-weekly shuttle process with AR management and DC teams. This includes meeting with AR management team to edit shuttle requests to stay within budgeted shuttle totals for the month, shuttle launch communication to the DCs, and provide item level tracking throughout the shuttle process. Manage tracking, movement, and communication with AR and DC teams for all DC off-site locations. Execute priority backstock pulls based on critical business and store needs. Coordinate execution with AR and DC teams. Assist in forecasting annual international shipping container estimates.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree

5-7 years experience in Supply Chain, merchandising, planning and allocations.
