Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Manager will be integral in the support of our Global Amino Acids business, development of midterm and long term strategic plans, and have the opportunity to collaborate with various teams within ADM: Commercial, Operations, Sales, Warehousing, Transportation, Finance, Technology COE, R&D, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, and Trade Compliance.
This position is the liaison between Customer Support, Commercial, Customer Quality, and Operations. They are responsible for managing short-term production forecasting, inventories and the group’s truck, rail, and vessel logistics to ensure high service levels to customers.
The position will have direct hands on involvement in the North American market and is expected to work with international offices to drive continuous improvement & optimization of global supply chain.
Job Responsibilities:Forecasting and production planning in collaboration with the Business Manager and OperationsMaintain finished goods inventory at target levels to ensure high service levelsCollaborate with accounting, global business services, plants, and warehouses to manage and reconcile finished goods inventories.Drive supply chain metric improvement in OTIF, Aging Inventory, SLOB, and DIOIdentify obsolete and slow moving material. Recommend disposition.Manage rail fleet and trans load utilizationAct as a liaison with customer quality and other quality groups for complete resolution of claims or requestsCoordinate and communicate rail, truck, vessel logistics, inventory positions, and forecasts to commercial team membersSearching and implementing best possible routes, rates from origin to customer destinationsNegotiating rates and agreements and maintain good working relationships with internal and external logistics providersPrepare and present valuable global market statistics by monitoring competitor activity and current market trendsOther departmental job related duties as manager assignsQualifications:Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in business or supply chain management. (Equivalent experience may be substituted for education at the hiring manager’s discretion.)3-5 years of experience managing supply chains/logistics3 years prior experience within an Agribusiness company a plusExcellent communication skills emphasizing listening, writing, and speaking succinctly, clearly and effectivelyA proven ability to cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with people at all levels inside and outside of the organizationMaturity, professional demeanor and personal discretion to interact with business leaders.Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and flexibility to adjust.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products with particular focus in Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Sharepoint and Power BI platformsExperience with ERP systems, RMS, Wave, IBM, and Pricefiles a plusExcited about this role but don’t think you meet every requirement listed?
