Overview:
MPC has an opportunity for a Supply Chain Director – Strategic Sourcing & Operations! This role has responsibility for the overall direction and management of MPLX strategic sourcing, in addition to operational Supply Chain support for the G&P, Terminals, and Pipeline organizations. The MPLX SC Strategic Operations team is quite complex, supporting operations across the United States, with 425 distinct plants, facilities, terminals, and compressor stations as well as management and operations support of 20,000 miles of pipelines. This team is split into two distinct groups, one made of Regional CSAs who provide direct, run-the-business support to designated operations and maintenance teams, and Strategic CSAs who manage specific categories of midstream spend and execute strategic initiatives for the specified goods and services. The team has a high degree of interaction with the Supply Chain Category Management and Continuous Improvement team, supporting Midstream business interests in enterprise initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the effective management of all Midstream Operational indirect expenditures (~$1.3BN annually), while ensuring value delivery from centrally leveraged spend across the enterprise and optimization of category management and strategic sourcing to maximize value, improve service levels, and reduce risk.Lead and manage the Strategic Sourcing Team, in addition to the G&P Operations Support team and L&S Operations support team, a total of 13 FTEs across various locations coast to coast, in identifying opportunities and developing and executing strategies, initiatives, and procedures related to strategic and tactical sourcing, supplier management, and contracting activities across MPLX.Responsible for resource optimization across MPLX strategic sourcing, G&P operations support, and L&S operations support, guiding staffing decisions by impact to business operations, project needs, and organizational objectives.Setting clear goals and KPIs for the Strategic Sourcing Team, ensuring alignment with Category Management, SC Transformation, and Midstream business units’ strategic commitments at the executive level.Leverage data driven and market insights to influence decision making, maximize buying power, and optimize strategies to influence up to $2.6BN in annual spend, which includes capital spend which would utilize Strategic Sourcing category strategies.Establish and maintain strong senior level relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to foster collaboration and ensure seamless strategy execution.Serve as escalation point to support and resolve complex contract negotiations and supplier issues, ensuring effective solutions for critical matters related to Ops & Strategic Sourcing.Provide leadership to high level supply chain professionals and front-line leadership, fostering performance, coaching and development to cultivate subject matter experts aligned with industry best practices, meeting strategic commitments in a dynamic business environment.Identify, hire, mentor, develop, and retain high-performing talent to nurture a culture of continuous improvement and growth mindset.Aids in shaping of mid-to-long term strategy of the Supply Chain Midstream organization, as a centralized function with cross-functional collaboration with Purchasing, Warehousing, Capital Procurement, Category Management, and SC Transformation. Develops, integrates, and executes strategies, plans and prioritizes Strategic Sourcing initiatives in support of MPLX.Identifies opportunities and commercial and contracting strategies to ensure the successful implementation of short and long-term MPLX objectives.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required.
