We are looking for a Supply Chain Director to join our team.
The Supply Chain Director will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the supply chain operations across all areas of manufacturing. This position will ensure seamless coordination between purchasing, production, planning, and distribution, while driving cost efficiency, quality, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with company objectives, focusing on cost reduction, efficiency, and scalability. Analyze and forecast demand to ensure optimal resource allocation across all manufacturing locations.Purchasing and Supplier Management:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure quality raw materials and negotiate favorable terms. Evaluate and onboard suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality standards, cost-effectiveness, and delivery timelines.Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory & production planning to minimize waste and ensure adequate supply of materials and finished goods. Implement best practices for inventory optimization, including Lean Manufacturing principles.Logistics and Distribution:
Manage logistics operations to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of raw materials and finished products between plants and customers. Optimize distribution networks and implement technology solutions to enhance supply chain visibility.Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop team of direct reports in purchasing, planning and logistics. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability within the supply chain team.Data-Driven Decision Making:
Utilize data analytics and ERP system to monitor KPIs, identify inefficiencies, and drive process improvements. Provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership on supply chain performance, risks, and opportunities.Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies across all supply chain operations. Identify and mitigate risks related to supply disruptions, quality issues, and changing market conditions.Continuous Improvement:
Champion Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency. Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in supply chain management.The successful candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in manufacturing industry. Proven leadership experience managing multi-location operations. Strong knowledge of purchasing, logistics, inventory management, and Lean Manufacturing principles. Proficiency in supply chain management software (e.g., IFS, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel between plant locations, as needed. Limited overnight travel may be required (less than 10%).
