Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
Responsible for supply inventory management and using financial analysis to monitor and improve processes at assigned site. Manages specialized medical supply inventories, stock locations, and receiving processes. Controls specialized and high dollar implants and supplies. Maintains key documentation and records. Manages through backorders and arranges expedited shipments. Leads special projects within the Supply Chain departments and represents Supply Chain on broader organization initiatives. Designs, maintains orderliness and cleanliness of stock locations. Leads stock inventories. Onboards, mentors, and trains associates.
Essential Job Functions
Manages specialized medical supply par locations, inventories, and implants; creates and designs new par locations and adjusts items and inventory levels per utilization analysisResponsible for inventory management program including inventory turns, excess, stock rotation and expiration date managementManages consignment inventory programs and compliance documentationEstablishes detailed inventory reduction plans and schedules based on analysis of dataSubmits purchase and bill-only requisitions in compliance with cost accounting and contract compliance policiesConduct research on Purchase Order statuses and resolves perpetual inventory item issuesManages overnight, backorders, and stock out requests at the needs of the department and communicates impact to department leaders; authorizes distributor re-routes as necessaryArranges critical expediting transportation needs to support patient careReconciles and remedies shipping errors and incorrectly shipped productMaintains ongoing compliance with all regulatory and accreditation criteriaInvestigates applicability of product recalls, pulls affected equipment / supplies, and maintains product recall system records accuratelyLeads or participates in continuous process improvement initiatives for supply chain departmentOnboards new associates; mentors less experienced associates; trains non-Supply Chain associates on enterprise resource planning (ERP) and other Supply Chain processesRepresents and leads Supply Chain effort on broader organization initiativesLeads hospital Bill-Only and Bill and Replace programs assuring compliance with policy and chart of accountsDirects SOX auditable programs related to inventory, consignment, and compliance.Provides backup support to Supply Chain SupervisorThis document is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, or working conditions associated with the job. Licensing/Certification
Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record (required)
Education
High School diploma or GED (required)
Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
Work Experience
2 years’ experience in inventory management (preferred))
2 years in medical Supply Chain operations (preferred)
Lean, 5S, Continuous Improvement experience (preferred)
