Supplier Quality Engineer III

Your responsibilities will include assessing and qualifying new suppliers, conducting supplier audits, and monitoring supplier performance to ensure compliance with our stringent quality requirements. You will be tasked with developing and implementing supplier quality assurance processes, creating standardized quality acceptance criteria, and writing inspection procedures specific to supplier-provided materials and components. Your role will also involve assisting in the review and evaluation of supplier-related in-process rejections, determining dispositions, and implementing corrective actions as necessary. Your technical duties will encompass planning, organizing, and executing projects that involve the design and development of new evaluation and control processes for supplier quality. This will include utilizing statistical analysis, supplier scorecards, and other control/risk mitigation techniques to ensure the highest level of quality in our supply chain. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations – with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries. **Responsibilities** + Assess and qualify new suppliers to ensure they meet company quality standards and requirements + Conduct regular supplier audits to evaluate compliance with industry standards and company policies + Monitor supplier performance using metrics and scorecards, and implement improvement plans as necessary + Develop and implement supplier quality assurance processes and create standardized quality acceptance criteria + Write and maintain inspection procedures specific to supplier-provided materials and components + Review and evaluate supplier-related in-process rejections, determining dispositions, and implementing corrective actions + Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives + Ensure effective communication and collaboration between suppliers and internal teams to maintain high-quality standards + Support the development and implementation of supplier quality improvement projects and initiatives + Frequent travel to supplier locations **Qualifications You Must Have:** + Bachelor's Degree in a related field and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience + Higher education may substitute for relevant experience + Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education + Considerable knowledge of Quality System requirements and contract quality requirements + Extensive experience in manufacturing and inspection + Proficient ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions, and test procedures + Advanced knowledge of SO9001, AS9001 standards + Proven experience in assessing and qualifying new suppliers + Demonstrated ability to conduct supplier audits and evaluate compliance with industry standards + Proficiency in monitoring supplier performance and implementing improvement plans + Experience in developing and implementing supplier quality assurance processes + Ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives + Strong skills in utilizing statistical analysis, supplier scorecards, and other control/risk mitigation techniques + Experience in ensuring effective communication and collaboration between suppliers and internal teams **Qualifications We Prefer:** + Experience in the aerospace and defense industry + ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or ASQ Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP) At Sierra Nevada Company, LLC (SNC) we deliver customer-focused technology and best-of-breed integrations in the aerospace and defense sectors.
