JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Define precise product specifications and performance criteria suppliers must meet to ensure quality.
* Conduct thorough evaluations of potential suppliers based on their quality control processes, certifications, and previous performance records.
* Establish formal agreements that outline quality expectations, compliance requirements, and consequences for failing to meet standards.
* Provide training and resources to suppliers to help them understand quality requirements and expectations.
* Implement a schedule for regular audits and assessments of supplier processes and facilities to ensure adherence to quality standards.
* Work closely with suppliers during the product development phase to address any potential quality issues early on.
* Create a mechanism for continuous feedback and communication to address quality concerns promptly.
* Set measurable performance metrics for suppliers and regularly review their adherence to these metrics to drive ongoing quality improvements.
* Conduct thorough reviews of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for installing critical and high-frequency options.
* Assess their accuracy and potential risks to repeatability, performance, and accuracy, emphasizing an 80/20 list and critical options.
* Execute process audits to verify adherence to SOPs and evaluate their effectiveness in achieving high-quality outputs.
* Ensure that required specifications are met and that tooling is properly calibrated and utilized in accordance with SOPs.
* Perform final inspections on jobs destined for high-criticality customers, including large orders and features with a high risk of failure or operational degradation.
* Define inspection requirements in collaboration with management.
* Capture and analyze any failures connected to SOP applications, aiming to identify areas where SOPs may fall short in delivering repeatable outputs.
* Ensure nonconformity resolution by relaying customer feedback & complaints to affected suppliers.
* Monitor & validate corrective actions to ensure effectivity
* Work closely with external and internal teams to update and enhance SOPs, work practices, tooling, and process controls.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor"s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field is preferred but not required
* ​​Manufacturing experience
* Supplier relations background
* RCCA / audit experience ​
* Proven experience in quality assurance or supplier quality engineering within the defense or automotive-related industries.
* Strong knowledge of materials, processes, and tools used in vehicle component/part manufacturing & assembly.
* Detail-oriented with effective analytical problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
* Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time for supplier visits, industry events, and procurement negotiations as necessary.
