Our workplace embraces diversity and inclusion – it’s a place where you can grow, belong and thrive. **Your day at NTT DATA** The Manager, Procurement / Purchasing is a management role, responsible for supporting procurement / purchasing strategies and ensuring that the required initiatives to the timely delivery of the specified materials and services at competitive pricing have been executed. This role understands the overall business strategy and uses knowledge to coordinate procurement / purchasing activities that will meet the needs of the business. This people management role directs their team in their daily activities of sourcing suppliers and purchasing of products, equipment, and services. **What you'll be doing** **Key Responsibilities:** + Manages services, materials and supplies sourcing and purchases within budget guidelines. + Analyzes existing procurement / purchasing processes for performance. + Implements improvements to existing procurement / purchasing processes and delivery systems. + Identifies ideal suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability and understands the contractual responsibilities related to agreements with key indirect suppliers and manage compliance. + Supports global procurement / purchasing initiatives, including savings and business improvement goals. + Maintains relationships with vendors/suppliers to ensure responsive service and timely resolution of all issues. + Ensures the procurement / purchasing activities and initiatives necessary to the timely delivery of the specified materials and services at competitive pricing has been executed. + Coordinates the maintenance of the overall procurement / purchasing management system for identification, tracking, and control of assets to support audit requirements. + Contributes to the creation of spend forecasts and then monitors these against the actual spend. + Makes tactical recommendations and/or decisions for various sourcing activities. + Responds to inquiries from internal stakeholders by providing information, direction, and or appropriate referrals. + Ensures full compliance with procurement / purchasing rules and regulations. + Tracks and reports key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness. + Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy. **Knowledge and Attributes:** + Knowledge of global sourcing and procurement strategies, tactics, processes, procedures and systems. + Ability to leverage technology solutions to optimize procurement operations. + Understanding of the market conditions and trends. + Broad knowledge and understanding of IT industry environment and business needs. + Good knowledge of inventory and supply chain management. + Ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders and colleagues at all levels. + Critical thinking and planning and organizational skills. + Good knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures, with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective strategies. + Ability to establish and manage processes and practices through collaboration and the understanding of business. + Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to present information clearly and succinctly. + Good leadership skills with the ability to manage a team. + Ability to recognize opportunities for enhancement and continuous improvement. **Academic Qualifications and Certifications:** + Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, supply chain management, or a related field. + Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM). **Required Experience:** + Advanced demonstrable experience in a similar procurement / purchasing role within a large scale (preferably multi-national) technology services environment. + Advanced purchasing experience including proficiency in conducting competitive procurement and negotiating agreements covering a broad range of commodities. + Advanced savings and cost reduction experience, as well as developing and managing budgets. + Advanced experience with sourcing and vendor management. + Deep knowledge of the different specialist areas required for procurement management in a local and/or global environment. + Solid experience leading and managing procurement / purchasing teams. **Additional Job Description:** **Knowledge and application:** + Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors. + Receives objective based assignments and determines resources to meet schedules and goals. **Problem solving:** + Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions often with insufficient information. + Implementation of solutions often requires a longer-term view taking multiple perspectives into consideration. **Interaction:** + Effectively communicates and presents results and recommendations across discipline, advising diverse stakeholders on complex matters. + Partners with key contacts outside own area of expertise and other external stakeholders. + Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. **Impact:** + Develops and manages operational plans to deliver tactical results and focus team on medium term goals. + Mistakes or failure to achieve results will add to costs and may have up to a one-year impact;
