In this hybrid role (2-3 days a week in our Budapest office), the Supplier Engineering Technician will be a member of Hach’s Global Operations team, and will be responsible for the submission, tracking and management of engineering project documentation and approval.
 

These projects are primarily focused on supply chain risk & cost reduction, and all related activities through the funnel stages (identification, valuation, scoping/assessment, execution, production release and closure) related to supplier capacity, continuity, consolidation, on-time delivery, and quality of components or material.
 

As part of a newly formed global team, the Supplier Engineering Technician will also document processes, procedures and standard work, having a broad interaction with Germany-based Engineers from the Supplier Management and VAVE (Value Analysis and Value Engineering) teams. This position will also support Asset Management activities for all tooling, molds, fixtures and equipment that require life control.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

You will process and collaborate with engineers all documentation related to ECRs (Engineering Change Requests), MCOs (Manufacturing Change Orders), ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) & PCNs (Product Change Notifications), including all technical documentation such as 2D drawings, 3D models, specifications, schematics, diagrams, and written and verbal instructions to properly file and submit for approval through Agile.

Perform Documentation modifications as needed based on advised design changes from our engineering team

Assist in tracking and maintaining accurate records of Equipment, Tooling, Fixturing and Molds (Asset Management)

Coordinates the flow of documents sent for approval through Agile in support to project execution and closure

Contributes as a team player who is deadline driven and works well with others

Support Engineering Change Process
 

The essential requirements of the job include:  

Fluent in English, advanced German (at least B2 level) and intermediate/advanced Hungarian

Education to Matura or above, and 4+ years of relevant work experience within a technical/engineering/manufacturing process or systems environment (with exposure to Engineering/Manufacturing Documentation etc)

Ideally a working knowledge of ERP, Electronic Document Management Systems, and 3D CAD programs

Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic engineering environment, with an extreme attention to detail and accuracy, strong planning and organizing skills, and able to adapt to rapidly changing priorities
