Supplier Development Consultant Job Number: 354638 Category: -MFG & Supply Chain SBU Description: Job Title: Supplier Development Consultant Pay Rate: $50.00-75.00/hour Employment: Independent Contractor Location: Remote with 50% travel to Montreal, QC, Canada & Toronto, ON, Canada Shift: First and Flexible Job Overview: Belcan is seeking Supplier Development Advisors to support a high-impact project in the aerospace industry. This role focuses on analyzing supplier readiness, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring delivery assurance. As part of the Supplier Development team, you will work closely with suppliers to assess production readiness, identify gaps, and enhance their ability to meet customer commitments. Candidates local to supplier locations in Canada are preferred but we will support candidates traveling from the US. Key Responsibilities: * Supplier Readiness Assessments: o Analyze supplier production readiness and assess their ability to meet customer commitments. o Review engineering drawings to evaluate suppliers" capability to produce parts. * Performance Improvement: o Identify gaps or areas for improvement in supplier processes. o Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance. * Delivery Assurance and Surveillance: o Expedite parts delivery and communicate part status to stakeholders. o Perform on-site monitoring to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance. Qualifications: * Experience: o Minimum of 10 years of experience in Supplier Development, Supplier Quality, or Supply Chain roles, preferably in the aerospace industry. o Proven ability to assess supplier readiness and drive performance improvements. * Technical Skills: o Strong understanding of engineering drawings and production processes. o Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and methodologies. * Soft Skills: o Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers and customers. o Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities. * Travel: o Willingness to travel to supplier locations within Canada as required. Preferred Qualifications: * Background in aerospace or automotive supplier development. * Familiarity with quality standards and production readiness assessments. * Experience in expediting parts and managing delivery schedules. * Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent process improvement experience. Salary guidelines for similar roles at Belcan are $50.00 - $75.00 per hour. Guidelines vary based on many factors including but not limited to education, qualifications, experience, discipline, geographic location, market, and business considerations.
