SUPERVISORY RECREATION ASSISTANT (ITT) (MOODY)
Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Spot, Moody AFB, GA. Responsibilities Serves as the subject matter expert in all aspects of the Information, Tickets and Travel (ITT) office. Responsible for the economic and efficient operation of the Rec office. Works with the facility director to implement higher level directives and formulates procedures and programs to ensure high standards of recreational and entertainment/promotional programs. Plans, organizes, and coordinates the details of recurring and nonrecurring activities and special events, to include commercial reservation and ticketing services for airlines, hotels, cruises, tour packages, and other travel related services. Develops group tours in both international and domestic areas designed to stimulate and sustain the interests of participants. Provides clear and accurate guidance and coordination of leisure travel information and referral services for both individual and group customers. Schedules group tours and other related activities, ensuring maximum participation. Attracts and motivates participants by providing the widest possible range of activities in terms of community interests and needs. Maintains a working knowledge of cruise-line industries and tour company rules, regulations and procedures. Collects and deposits monies and prepares daily and weekly financial reports. Monitors and processes all payments made by AF contractors. Initiates actions/contracts to maintain displays of information for use by all customers. Gathers, monitors, and maintains data to complete reports and maintain program accountability. Resolves customer complaints, referring more technical complaints to supervisor. Develops marketing plans, surveys, programs, and strategies to enhance operations and determine the needs of the community. Prepares NAF operating budgets; prepares NAF Capital Expenditure budgets, analyzes financial results, and maintains solid financial conditions both RRR and Community Center. Manages real property resources and provides expert advice on renovations, improvements, and minor and major construction. Reports directly to the Spot Facility Manager. Responsible for the recruitment of staff and planning, assigning and reviewing employees' work. Schedules, approves/disapproves leave requests, maintains employee records and ensures all training requirements are met. Conducts performance evaluations and recommends awards; maintains discipline; resolves grievances for Community Center employees. Assist Community Programs with scheduling rooms for meetings/events, etc. Serves as Alternate Facility Manager for The SPOT, annex facilities. Qualifying Experience: Must have progressively responsible experience which provides a general knowledge of management principles and practices. Must have progressively responsible experience in and knowledge of domestic and international travel ticketing which has provided a varied knowledge of travel industry rules, regulations, and procedures. Must have experience in receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, or other procession of cash items when this includes direct handling of cash items and use of cash accountability control methods. Must have knowledge of and experience providing computer-based travel reservations and ticketing, including, but not limited lo money change orders and vouchers. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to drive long distances with large groups of people over improved and unimproved roads. Must provide a valid driver's license. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must be able to able work days, nights. weekends and holidays. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). THIS IS A DRUG TESTING POSITION. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
