Summary You will serve as Head of the Environmental Branch in the Infrastructure Division of CARDEROCK DIV NS. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14. Responsibilities You will oversee and manage the programs associated with environmental protection and compliance matters to promote NSWCCD mission requirements through implementation of Federal, State, Local and DoD/DoN environmental regulations at all locations. You will serve as the Environmental Branch Head responsible for managing all the programs contained in the Navy Environmental Readiness Manual (OPNAV M-5090) such as: Clean Air, Storm Water, Waste Water, Hazardous Material and Hazardous Waste. You will serve as the Environmental Branch Head responsible for managing all the programs contained in the Navy Environmental Readiness Manual (OPNAV M-5090) such as: Above Ground Storage Tanks, Pollution Prevention, Environmental Management System. You will serve as the Environmental Branch Head responsible for managing all the programs contained in the Navy Environmental Readiness Manual (OPNAV M-5090) such as: Environmental Training, EPCRA and NEPA. You will serve as the Environmental Branch Head responsible for managing all the programs contained in the Navy Environmental Readiness Manual (OPNAV M-5090) such as: Environmental Protection Afloat and Environmental Quality Assessments. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining metrics and trend analysis and coordinating the environmental functions, conservation and preservation as well as education and awareness functions within and outside the Command. You will supervise all personnel assigned to the branch which includes staff members assigned to field locations in support of NSWCCD detachments. You will provide expert advice and counsel to the NSWCCD Commanding Officer, all Command management, and all Command personnel. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: overseeing and managing programs associated with environmental protection and compliance matters through the implementation of environmental laws and regulations in a federal organization. Education Additional Information Duties are typically performed in an office environment. However, the employee is required to make frequent field inspections that may involve uneven terrain, using stairs and may be exposed to various hazards which are lessened by the use of personal protective equipment.
