The opportunity

This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating all activities of workers associated with pharmaceutical distribution operations within the Distribution Center.  This includes receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing and shipping.  This role facilitates the distribution of Anda products to our customers in a timely and efficient manner while properly managing their subordinates to ensure full customer satisfaction with the distribution operation.  The Supervisor Distribution interacts with the Managers and/or Supervisors of all other departments related to distribution activities.  These departments include Sales, Finance, Customer service, and Human Resources.  Additionally, this position interacts with freight carriers and supply vendors.

ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY 

All areas of responsibility listed below are essential to the satisfactory performance of this position by any incumbents with reasonable accommodation if necessary. Any non-essential functions are assumed to be included in other related duties or assignments. 

•    Oversees inbound and outbound activities and subordinates to ensure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments
•    Reviews shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules
•    Reviews and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates
•    Addresses Customer Service and Sales departments issues related to the outbound operations
•    Creates and/or compiles composite reports of details related to outbound operations from system data, systems generated reports, and individual reports of subordinates
•    Any other related duties as required

Your experience and qualifications

Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered. 

 

Education/Certification/Experience:
•    High School Diploma or equivalent required
•    Minimum of 3+ years of supervisory/management experience in distribution center operations in large-scale distribution environment or 2+ years of supervisory/management experience in a pharmaceutical distribution environment or related healthcare/perishable product field; or equivalent combination of experience that gives the individual the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to do the job

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
•    Communicates clearly in written or verbal form
•    Maximize effectiveness of supervising activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records of outgoing shipments due to a high level of understanding of the distribution center process flow
•    Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
•    Proficient in problem-solving processes
•    Understands and applies project management skills
•    Has excellent performance observation skills
•    Understands and applies job tools/aids techniques to training initiatives
•    Effectively interfaces with senior management and subject matter experts
•    Effectively mentors junior team members
•    Ability to learn and understand the pharmaceutical distribution industry, related regulations, and the operational implications
•    Must have the ability to be trained and certified to operate industrial fork-trucks and other material handling equipment


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

On demand working hours related to product launches, physical inventories or any other special projects

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

•    Regularly required to walk and stand
•    Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
•    Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
•    Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
•    Occasionally required to climb, stoop, or kneel

Visual Acuity:
•    Perform activities such as computer work, preparing and analyzing data, and extensive reading.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

•    May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed on site visits (i.e. safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.).
