What you'll do The Supervisor Rehab Services is responsible for supervising the overall functions of Rehabilitation Services; coordinate and supervise operations of the department and facilitate performance improvement activities within the department. Assure competency of all staff members, assists with reviewing department charges; ensures that patient charges are accurate. Maintain efficient and effective department operation while facilitating compliance with state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols. Provides both supervision and direct patient care within the scope of their license for patients requiring therapy services according to principles and practices of the profession and Bassett Healthcare Network policies and procedures. Responsible for the direct supervision of all frontline rehab staff at specified entity including job knowledge and performance, competency, regulatory compliance. Completes performance appraisals on time per policy and follows Human Resource guidelines for disciplinary actions and performance improvement plan in collaboration with manager. Ensures staffing allocation/coverage in order to optimize access and minimize interruption of services. Establishes timely and effective communication with direct reports to keep them aware of important corporate, divisional or departmental information and to receive information and insights from employees. Proactively identifies potential and actual risks to safety, identifies the underlying causes and makes necessary improvements in order to mitigate risk. Maintains up to date emergency and life safety plans for rehab services, in collaboration with appropriate organizational staff, and conducts and documents related drills, trainings, and logs per organizational policies. Maintain and monitor quality and performance improvement indicators, including staff productivity, patient volumes, financial stewardship, and other quality improvement metrics Assists the Manager of Rehabilitation Services in the development, review and updating of rehab policies and procedures Assists with department planning and program development. Facilitates coordinated systems and departments to maximize positive organization and patient outcomes, as well as community linkages. Facilitates a professional practice environment that promotes excellence in patient centered care and provides for positive patient outcomes. Participates in the recruitment process for new staff in a timely manner; trains and orients new employees, or delegates to appropriate staff. Leads and/or participates in intra and interdepartmental team building initiatives focused on improving patient care. Performs essential clinical functions of a Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapist or Therapy Assistant. Participates in staffing patterns that reflect variable demands in service, maintains at least 0.5 clinical productivity. Accurate and timely completion of MDS/PDPM sections related to therapy (Long Term Care Setting) Performs similar or related duties as requested or directed. What we need from you Education/Qualifications: Bachelors degree in one of the following: Physical therapy Occupational therapy Speech pathology or Associates Degree in one of the following Physical Therapy Assistant Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Experience: 3 years experience as one of the following, required Physical Therapist Occupational Therapist Speech Pathologist Physical Therapy Assistant Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant 1 year of supervisory experience or management training, preferred. License/Certificates: Current NYS license in one of the following is required (or eligibility for same): Physical Therapist Occupational Therapist Speech Pathologist BLS CPR - within 6 months of date of hire. Skills: Attention to Detail Accuracy Reading/Writing/Comprehension Build Relationships Time Management Organizing/Categorizing records Computer Skills Supervise Others Physical Requirements: Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Occasional: balancing, climbing, crouching, grasping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, stooping, Visual Acuity (color, depth, perception), fit testing. Frequent: Typing/ clerical/ dexterity, hearing, repetitive motion, seeing/ monitor/ computer use, standing, talking, walking. Hazards: Occasional: bodily fluids/ bloodborne exposure. Working Conditions: Occasional: Extreme temperatures. Travel: Occasional Travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis. Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement. Pay Range Minimum: USD $89,576.05/Yr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $134,364.07/Yr.
