Supervisor Production (2nd Shift)

Supervisory Capacity:    ​Direct Reports:  20+​ 

Plan and schedule personnel in cooperation withthe Production Manager (i.e. vacation, temporary workers, overtime work).  Provide production expectations and quality feedback to team members in daily start up meetings.  Monitor daily established production requirements throughout the shift to ensure customer requirements and plant objectives are met while ensuring HSE and 5S policies and standards arefollowed.  Train and monitor employee performance to ensure operator is certified and operator training matrix is updated and meeting departmental targets.  Compile KPI data and populate end of shift report.  Distribute to manager and appropriate operations and support personnel.    Ensure job training and daily job rotationsare in place and enforced. 

Additional Responsibilities

Ensure compliance of the UAW contract, team member handbook,safety guidelines, all rules, programs and procedures that pertain to production team members. Monitor quality of product throughout the production process.  Participates in Team Leader meetings and Quality initiatives.  Daily review of processand people to identify and implement CI opportunities.

 

Required Education Level

High School Graduate or Equivalent Area of Study: General Studies *Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.

Required Qualifications (Experience Level, Skills, Knowledge)

Minimum of 3 years of experience in production Minimum of 1 year of experience within the automotive industry Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces. Computer literacy Excellent oral communicationskills Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills

Preferred Qualifications (Experience Level, Skills, Knowledge)

Just in Time (JIT) environment experience, preferred. Proficient organizational skills. Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.

Work Environment

Personal protective equipment is required.  Works closely with others, perhaps within a foot of another person.  Must be able to match the pace of work to the speed of equipment. Are sometimes exposed to contaminants.
