Supervisor Healthcare Claims
Oversees accounts payable claims operations Trains, schedules, assigns, and reviews work of staff Develops and implements record keeping systems, forms, policies, and procedures related to billing, processing payments, and other accounts payable and receivable activities Develops and pursues collection strategies. Identifies and resolves problems and inconsistencies and suggests appropriate corrective procedures Communicates and coordinates accounting policies, practices, and procedures with department and company managers and officials, vendors, reporting agencies, clients, customers, and the public Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances. Adjusts errors and complaints Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow Issues written and oral instructions Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances Observes and evaluates employees and work procedures to ensure quality standards and service is met Makes recommendations regarding personnel actions such as new hire requests and discharges, to ensure proper staffing Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates Attends meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-related activities as required Performs related duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS Five or more years prior accounts payable experience in a supervisory role Ability to effectively apply the policies and practices involved in the human resources function Ability to supervise a staff in a positive and productive manner by motivating, developing and managing employees as they work Ability to utilize and administer the disciplinary action process through coaching and counseling to improve performance or terminate employment Ability to communicate tactfully, verbally and in writing with department heads, managers, coworkers and vendors to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within an automated systems as well as a variety of software packages such as Outlook, Excel and Word. EDUCATION Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent preferred.
