When you join our **Monitor Technician** team, you will be part of a team in charge of all patient's requiring cardiac monitoring within the facility. Monitor Techs are required to watch between 40 and 60 patients cardiac rhythms for abnormalities and alarms. They are also responsible for escalating changes and recognizing dangerous rhythms and notifying the healthcare team. **This position requires minimum three years EKG interpretation experience. Previous leadership experience preferred.** This position is for a **Full Time Night Shift, 6pm to 6:30am.** This will include weekends and holidays on a rotation. POSITION SUMMARY This position supervises cardiac monitor technicians and maintains the operations of the telemetry surveillance unit. Monitors staff performance and equipment/computer function. CORE FUNCTIONS 1. Oversees operations of telemetry surveillance unit. Promptly resolves issues related to staffing, telemetry capacity, scheduling and equipment functionality. Leads departmental processes that support accurate record keeping, observation of telemetry monitors and escalation of cardiac rhythm changes to appropriate nursing personnel. 2. Assists in the development and implementation of departmental procedures and processes. 3. Oversees the availability of supplies, equipment and staffing resources to ensure excellent patient care. 4. Serves as supervisory liaison between Cardiac Monitor Techs and clinical leadership. Maintains effective communication with medical staff, patients and other departments. Proactively identifies and resolves escalations and issues. 5. Adheres to standards and policies for purposes of licensure, regulation and accreditation. 6. Manages telemetry equipment to include coordination of upgrades, identification of equipment issues and coordinates resolution with appropriate resources. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Minimum of three years EKG interpretation experience. Must possess strong leadership skills and working knowledge of medical terminology. Requires strong effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
