Temp to Hire **LSI Staffing is Hiring in North Houston** - We are seeking a **Fabrication Shop Manager** to manage and lead the shop fabrication process while ensuring adherence to applicable standards, client specifications, and regulations. You will manage a team of shop fabricators, optimize production processes, maintain a safe and efficient work environment, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Pay $30 to $35 per hour Must have a strong fabrication background. **Key Activities:** + Manage and be accountable for the shop process that includes fabrication, assembly, testing, and quality control of structural fiberglass and urethane fabrication, from quoting to delivery. + Ensure compliance with applicable standards, client specifications, and relevant regulatory agency regulations. + Lead and motivate a team of fabricators and shop workers to achieve production goals. Manage and optimize shop schedules and resource allocation to meet deadlines and budget constraints. + Be responsible for estimating and forecasting labor, materials and budgets for current projects, and forecasting of potential workload from the sales pipeline. Implement production schedules and monitor workflow to meet deadlines. + Manage a team of 8-10 shop personnel (fabrication, shipping and receiving) of varying capabilities. Conduct performance evaluations and coach shop personnel to improve performance. + Support business standards and contribute to continuous operational improvements. + Collaborate with clients and other departments for project success and business development. + Effective utilization of business associates and assets. + Develop and manage key and strategic partnering relationships with vendors and/or subcontractors. + Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment. Be responsible for monitoring and ensuring adherence to all safety training and practices. + Responsible for maintenance of manufacturing equipment, building and grounds. Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to maintain operational standards. + Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize fabrication processes. + Monitor and record inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for necessary materials. + Manage budgeting and financial reporting for the production department. **Qualifications:** + 10+ years of experience in fiberglass and urethane (preferred), steel/metal, or wood fabrication, with at least 2 years in a leadership/management role. + Bilingual Spanish English required. + Familiarity with shop fabrication equipment and fabrication processes. + Ability to utilize fabrication/shop workflow management software applications such as MiSys, Fishbowl, Quickbooks or equivalent. Good computer skills required. + Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance. + Understanding of financials for project and services-based business. + Ability to manage and muti-task in a fast-paced workshop environment that includes Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly production scheduling, and FAT execution. + Associates technical degree or higher preferred. + Infrequent travel to client installations, including offshore production platforms or installation vessels, required.
