Supervisor, Railcar Cleaning

TrinityRail Maintenance Services is searching for a Supervisor, Railcar Cleaning in our Fort Worth, TX railcar facility.

 

The Supervisor, Railcar Cleaning is a key plant leader who oversees the cleaning rack operations and maintenance of the facility throughout day-to-day operations as well as contributes to the long-term operational plan, including (but not limited to) training and onboarding the new employees, scheduling and assigning work duties, overcoming operational obstacles, and managing production and employee performance to ensure that the plant’s safety, quality, and production goals are achieved.

What You'll Do:

Lead the Cleaning Rack operations  Responsible for the cleaning process of railcars that are brought in for routine and non-routine maintenance Manage and direct the activities of hourly chemical cleaners Ensure employees are trained and properly certified for the work they perform Works with all functional departments in the implementation of continuous improvement activities associated with the manufacturing operations Demonstrate strong mentoring skills for coaching and developing hourly personnel  Responsible for the Environmental Health and Safety of employees in cleaning and the downstream employees engaged in downstream activities, examples: Confined space entry Flare operations Certifying cars clean for subsequent mechanical repairs Environmental compliance and conservation Ensure responsible waste disposal Responsible for the Quality of car cleaning and adhering to Trinity and customer cleaning specifications and requirements  Responsible for Cleaning Rack Labor Efficiency, and reporting information that will impact the financial results of cleaning operations Set production schedules based on commodity, efficiency, staffing resources, and volume required to meet the demand of overall plant production  Responsible to align cleaning operations throughput to the downstream needs of the Fort Worth plant – mechanical and overall plant monthly car demands Coordinate workload according to completion schedule Responsible to develop and implement cleaning technology, processes, and maintenance procedures for cleaning rail tank cars Establish plans and technical project objectives to meet technology implementation and maintenance of the equipment

What You'll Need: 

5+ years of applicable Manufacturing Management experience 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment Experience, knowledge or training of Lean Manufacturing methodologies with actual implementation background Experience cleaning tanks, railcars, or similar vessels is required Must have people management experience; ability to supervise and interface effectively with employees of all levels Confined space entry management experience required Knowledge of operations or the ability to acquire it quickly Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to effectively plan work procedures, equipment, material and manpower needs Ability to effectively build and lead a productive work group as well as to perform as a member of the management team Must have Excel and Microsoft Office experience
