Summary

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for providing a range of hands-on production tasks and planning for the operations at Norseman Protective Solutions. The supervisor will be responsible for coordinating daily production activities to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality and safety. The supervisor will be responsible for staffing, production scheduling, workplace safety, quality control, and cost management. Furthermore, they will facilitate a positive workspace by promoting Norseman culture and values.

 

Job Duties

Work with Human Resources on recruitment and selection process Schedule daily work plans for hourly employeesTrain, coach, develop and motivate plant employeesVerify timecard entries by employees for bi-weekly hourly payrollConduct probationary and annual reviews with employees Liaise with Human Resources regarding employee investigations and performance managementEnsure Norseman’s Safety program is adhered to by all employeesEnsure staff adheres to established manufacturing processesInspect manufactured products for quality workmanship Investigate discrepancies from inventory counts and cycle countsLiaise regularly with Purchasing to ensure raw materials are available for manufacturing productsCommunicate with Inside Sales and Operations Manager concerns, shortages and delayed deliveriesAssist with daily yields and order entryMonitor and evaluate the performance of plant employees to ensure high quality products are produced in a timely mannerPerforms other duties as required or assigned 

 Requirements

5+ years of experience in manufacturing production environmentMinimum 2+ years of experience in management or supervisory role with direct reportsExceptional understanding of production processesContinuous Improvement, Lean manufacturing experience an assetQMS experience an assetKPI reporting

 Mechanical aptitude is required

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basisAbility to multi-task while maintaining a high level of accuracyEffective communication skillsIntermediate computer skills
