What you will be doing

The Supervisor, Centralized Pharmacy Services is responsible for assisting the Sr. Manager of Central Processing in training and oversight of the central processing technician team. This position will assist in the daily operations of associates and programs managed by the team. The Supervisor, Centralized Pharmacy Services, plays a critical role in assuring the team is patient centered and focused on process improvement, quality control and assurance. 

The position is based in Boise, ID or Itasca, IL. The shift arrangement is typically days or afternoons/evenings and is a 40-hour workweek. 

Main responsibilities

Associate relations – Under the direction of the Central Processing Sr. Manager, train the central processing technician team to ensure there are no interruptions in the care of patients.  Provide cross training to ensure timely patient care. Proficient in all processes performed by the team. Assist in on-boarding, coaching, mentoring and continuing education for central processing technician staff.  Internal customer relations – Assists in daily operations of central processing team, assuring retail pharmacy staff, managers and other business partners’ expectations are exceeded.  Process improvement – Serves as a champion for central processing quality assurance (QA) and assists with the overall development and implementation of the QA programs and new program implementation. Ensures central processing staff receives training on QA and new programs. Ensures staff is meeting or exceeding production goals. Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Able to obtain commitment from others.  Customer/patient relations skills, including meeting customer/patient needs and establishing a service environment. Identifying requirements of internal and external customers/patients, focus on achieving optimal results, and develop solutions that positively affect patient care. This also involves emphasizing the importance of demonstrating good patient care and customer service and putting in place practices that help promote a service-orientated culture. Written communication skills, write in a clear and concise manner to peers, vendors, managers, or customers/patients. Target material to the appropriate audience and use correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Oral communication skills, speak in a clear and concise manner to peers, vendors, managers, or customers one-on-one, in a small group, or in large formal presentations.

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience

Required:             

High school diploma or GED. Maintain registration with State Board of Pharmacy. Certified pharmacy technician.

Preferred:  

Customer service or patient care experience. Previous supervisory experience. Previous retail pharmacy experience. Knowledge of community pharmacy practice. Knowledge of Albertsons Companies Pharmacy operations and systems to facilitate the incorporation of Central Processing services at retail level.
