Job Title: Superintendent
Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee a $3 million new turf field project at Frostburg State University, starting in March and running through September. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in commercial construction, particularly with athletic field construction. This role requires strong computer skills, ideally with Procore, and the ability to commute to Frostburg and occasionally to Baltimore.

ResponsibilitiesPlan, organize, and direct activities related to the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods, time, and costs.Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.Obtain all necessary permits and licenses.Schedule projects in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.Explain plans and contract terms to field personnel, administrative staff, and other superintendents, laborers, and carpenters.Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve complaints and problems as necessary.Ensure long-term planning of the project.Verify that all schedules are met and quality control is maintained.Assist co-workers in additional tasks to help meet the company's overall business objectives.Essential Skills10+ years of experience in commercial construction, including at least 6 years in a Superintendent role.Experience managing both large and small projects, with an average value of $3-5 million.Base-build project experience.Strong computer skills for documentation, ideally with Procore.Experience working with the Maryland Stadium Authority or similar technical clients, requiring strong daily reports.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with athletic field construction.Knowledge of company policies, standards, and procedures.Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and leadership.Familiarity with the AIA 17 division breakdown.Work Environment

The Superintendent will manage on-site projects and supervise other on-site personnel. This role requires direct interaction with field personnel, administrative staff, and other superintendents. The office culture is supportive, with a strong team spirit and opportunities for advancement within the company. The work environment is primarily based on local Maryland projects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $50.00
