Annual compensation range: $115,000.00-$120,000.00

Key Responsibilities of the Golf Course Superintendent:

Prepares and maintains the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans. Plans, organizes, and directs the maintenance and renovations of putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers. Supervises the planting and cultural practices involved in growing various turf grasses, trees and ornamental plants Maintains inventory and oversees all repairs and scheduled maintenance of all golf course maintenance equipment Procures supplies and materials within budgetary limitations. Keeps record of annual maintenance activities and costs. Prepares reports. Implements sound purchasing procedures utilizing preferred vendors, when possible. Reconciles and provides timely coding of all invoices, payroll and other required documents. Ensures all company policies and procedures are followed, including compliance with all government regulations. Ensures that they and all associates obtain proper training and/or licenses needed to perform job tasks safely and within city, state, and federal regulations. Addresses directly all real or perceived environmental concerns. Ensures proper mixing, calibration, and application of all chemical/fertilizers used on the course. Manages and schedules department members that may include, but is not limited to: Assistant Superintendent, Mechanic, Irrigation Technician, Equipment Operator, Greenskeepers, and Landscapers. Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs. Implements and enforces comprehensive safety program for employees of the maintenance department Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager

Minimum Qualifications for the Golf Course Superintendent:

Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and 4+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (Degree preference in agronomy/ horticulture/ plant/soil science). GCSAA Member preferred, but not required Must have a valid Driver’s License. Must possess a current Qualified Applicator License (QAL) Knowledge of budgeting and expense management Knowledge of local, federal, and state laws and regulations affecting management of golf course operations Must Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills Must be highly organized and efficient with a high attention to detail Must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Must have basic computer skills, Word and Excel

Regularly required to reach with hands and arms Often required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls Occasionally be required to balance, stoop, twist upper body, kneel, and climb Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs occasionally Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception Moderate exposure to extreme cold, heat, working outdoors, chemicals, pesticides, gasoline, vibration, pollen, dust, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards Noise level is typically moderate to loud Work extended hours during golf and holiday season Work weekends and holidays
