Summer Trainee, Service Designer
For the GenAI Lighthouse team in Espoo.
Are you a creative problem solver with a passion for designing services that make a real impact? As a Service Designer Trainee in KONE’s GenAI Lighthouse team, you will play a crucial role in building the strongest GenAI enabled organization in the industry. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to conceptualize and prototype services that leverage the power of Generative AI to solve real business challenges.
The position is based in Espoo, with the possibility of conducting some work remotely. We are seeking a student to work for three months between May and September 2025, depending on availability and preference.

Currently in your third year or higher of university studies, focusing on Service Design, Strategic Design, Design Thinking, User Experience (UX) Design, or a related field. Hands-on project experience with service design tools such as journey mapping, personas, and blueprinting. A curious mindset and a willingness to learn about Generative AI and its applications. Experience in workshop facilitation. Excellent English communication skills, with strong collaboration abilities to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.Preferred:
Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar for prototyping. Insight into or experience with the use cases and applications of Generative AI.
