Summer Intern- Supply Chain Analyst
MRC Global serves the oil and gas industry across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors as well as the chemical and gas distribution market sectors worldwide. **About The Organization** MRC Global is the largest global distributor, based on sales, of pipe, valves, and fittings (PVF) and related products and services to the energy industry and supplies these products and services across each of the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors. **LOCATION** - Houston, TX **DESCRIPTION** **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** (not all inclusive) _individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation_ + Handle confidential information in order to aid in the creation and execution of analyses necessary to advance various strategic initiatives, including; market sizing, vendor profiling, competitor profiling, customer account analysis, and profitability analysis of goods and services; + Provide analytical and administrative support to initiatives in order to communicate insights, decisions and progress to management; + Utilize strong time management and organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines and inquiries; + Accept progressive responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy in work products; + Maintain strict confidentiality of all data and records; + Support the MRO contract bid process and assist in any projects resulting from the award of a contract such as post-award market basket pricing maintenance. + Analyze sales history data for order compliance, inventory optimization, and strategic sourcing. + Create and maintain cross-reference tools for both internal and external customers. + Gather, analyze, and present large amounts of data in a comprehensible format. + Develop and train others on tools created for the purpose of implementing large scale change. + Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others; report workplace hazards, injuries, or illness immediately. **POSITION REQUIREMENTS** **Education, Experience, & Ability Requirements** **Any combination of requirements which provide knowledge & abilities necessary to perform Essential Duties & Responsibilities will be considered** + Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work; + High level of proficiency and accuracy in computer skills, including MRC specific software reporting, Data Warehouse, Monarch, and MS Office products, including Excel, Access, Word and Outlook; + Proficient in VBA coding for macro creations in Excel. + Mastery of Access to manage multiple databases. + Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, as well as internal departments (i.e.: Accounting, Operations, Business Development, CDC/Pricing, Finance, I/S, Traffic, etc.); + Attention to detail and good decision making skills and the willingness to exercise them; + Self-motivated, strong organizational and time management skills; + Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in the review and entry of data; + Ability to work overtime as needed; + Valid Driver’s License with the ability to meet the MRC vehicle policy. **Additional Qualifications:** + Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status; + Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently in order to communicate with others, understand and interpret safety instructions, and to respond to inquiries; + Ability to understand and comply with MRC guidelines and expectations, to include Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines. **Working Conditions** **For position-specific details regarding the physical and mental demands and working conditions, contact Human Resources** Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform essential functions Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status.
