Electrical Engineering Intern – Exploration Systems Team

Honeybee Robotics is seeking candidates to join our Summer 2024 internship program with a focus on Electrical engineering. As an intern, your daily responsibilities will involve actively supporting electrical systems development and fabrication of prototype sample acquisition and handling devices used in planetary exploration! Your responsibilities may include assembly and test of DC-DC converters, update and procure electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, sensor selection and integration, and cable routing. Throughout your internship, you will have the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience and make a tangible, positive contribution to our goals!

During your internship experience, you can expect to: Gain hands on experience.Receive feedback from managers.Participate in events to learn about other parts of our organization.Attend social gatherings.

Basic Qualifications:Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program majoring in electrical engineering or a related field with at least one quarter or semester of degree related coursework remaining after the internship concludes.Completed at least one year of full-time coursework post high school graduation at the time of application (acquired sophomore standing).Available to work full time for 12 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework.Skills in soldering, cable routing, and crimping.Familiarity with grounding techniques.Proficiency in PCB assembly.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Desired Qualifications: If you have any experience with the following, include it in your application!Completion of a course or experience in one or more of the following areas: Microcontroller programming, Fundamentals of Analog Electronics, Basic Control Theory, Digital Circuit Design, Motor Control.

If you haven’t yet used a tool in a professional setting, include relevant coursework that demonstrates your exposure and proficiency with at tool or concept.

The compensation for on-site CA applicants is $28.67 an hour.
