We are hiring a Health & Safety Summer Student for a full-time paid internship located in Glendale, AZ.
In this role, you will assist with the day-to-day administration of several primary data Health & Safety Management systems, such as the Oracle Learning Management platform, Safety SharePoint Sites, JJ Keller DOT administrative system, and information management. You will manage the HS&E communications library, assist with incident investigation data collection, and prepare safety bulletins.
What you’d be responsible for:
Manage the HS&E communications libraryAssist with incident investigation data collectionPrepare communications for safety bulletinsAudit incident records for completion by reviewing checklists of required information for each eventAssist in the development of the Safety SharePoint Site for EPCOR USACollect all Health and Safety policy, procedures, and supporting documentsOrganize historical/archive dataDocument site inspections and facilitate communication of findings with Operations personnelEnter and track response status of hazard IDs, site inspection reports, and other action itemsAssist with key strategic initiativesAdminister the Brady360 program for Hazardous Energy Isolation and Confined Space ProgramsRecord and communicate stats to each district regarding Key Performance IndicatorsUpdate Safety USA Calendar to include review cycle schedule notificationsTrack ISAT response statusAdminister project management status master spreadsheetPerform other administrative tasks as requiredDemonstrate a high-performance, high-discipline, safe, accountable, focused, innovative, and achievement-oriented manner of workingIn return, we’ll provide:

Currently enrolled in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health Sciences, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, or other related field or recent graduateBasic knowledge of occupational safety & health regulations, hazard identification and risk management, environmental health & safety (EHS), industrial hygiene, accident investigation, data analysis & reporting, communication & collaboration, and problem-solving & analytical skillsProficient with commonly used software platforms: MS Word, PowerPoint, SharePointIntermediate to advanced abilities with Excel (comfortable building formulas, able to build Pivot Tables, able to record and edit macros)Advanced working level and experience with Oracle system managementAbility to quickly learn and operate new programs and systemsDemonstrates professionalism and reliability in all tasksWorks collaboratively with team members and mentorsCommunicates effectively in both verbal and written formatsEager to learn and apply new skillsOther important facts about this job
