30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit Comments and Other Information MISSION STATEMENT In a diverse community, rich in agricultural and family traditions, the River Delta Unifed School District will provide a safe, supportive, rigorous, student-centered education in which all students are prepared to achieve their maximum potential and become productive members of society ABOUT THE DISTRICT The River Delta District Office is located in Rio Vista which is 45 miles northeast of San Francisco and 35 miles south-west of Sacramento. River Delta is a K-12 district with an enrollment of 1,880. The District has 8 small schools: (4) K-6 elementary schools; (2) middle schools; and (2) high schools serving the communities of Clarksburg, Hood, Courtland, Walnut Grove, Ryde, Locke, Isleton, Rio Vista, Birds Landing, and Collinsville. The River Delta Unied School District sits in three counties – Sacramento, Solano, and Yolo. Although it is a tri-county district, it is served by the Sacramento County Office of Education. River Delta Unifed School District is committed to providing a quality education for all students and has high standards and expectations for students' success in school. We are committed to ensuring that our students meet these standards and that our clients' expectations for educational excellence are not compromised. The District continually improves and expands its curriculum by implementing new programs and broadening the instructional strategies used in the classroom. Staff development opportunities are provided, encouraged, and promoted. We encourage participation in on-going in-services in all curriculum areas. The district encourages advancement on the salary schedule for advanced classes taken to improve instruction in areas agreed upon by the teacher, principal, and Superintendent.
