POWER Engineers is currently seeking a Substation Project Lead/Project Engineer to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Ann Arbor, Michigan office. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of the office).
ResponsibilitiesManage relationships with alliance clientsPerform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations including one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project schedulingEnsure POWER quality procedures are followedPerform QA/QC for deliverables to clientsManage schedule, budget, and quality of assigned projectsOccasional travel will be requiredRequired Education/ExperienceAbility to function as a Substation Project Lead/Project Engineer in the Ann Arbor office of our Substation Business UnitExperience in 15kV through 138kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standardsExperience filling the role of project lead for several projects occurring concurrentlyStrong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnelLegally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorshipDesired Education/Experience Experience in 230 kV through 500kV substation designBachelor of Science degree in engineering or a relevant technology10+ years experience in utility substation design is a plusExperience in managing 3-5 people on a project teamAt POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
