This role offers flexibility with remote, hybrid, or in-office work arrangements; however, candidates must reside within a commutable distance of the office. **Responsibilities** + Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to high-voltage utility substations + Perform detailed design of one-line diagrams, general arrangements, elevations, AC service calculations, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, ground grid layouts, and details + Occasional travel will be required **Required Education/Experience** + BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering), BSREE (BS Renewable Energy Engineering), BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology), Associate’s degree or equivalent technical education and/or experience + Must be able to take a written scope document and develop a detailed physical substation or control substation design and drawing package using good engineering judgment and industry/client standards with minimal oversight + Experience filling the substation design engineer or substation designer role for multiple concurrent projects (brownfield and greenfield projects) + Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel, Word, and One Note + Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel + Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is a global consulting environmental and engineering firm and one of the top design firms in the energy sector.
