Substation Electrical Engineer/DesignerJob Summary

POWER Engineers is seeking an Electrical Engineer/Designer with experience in substation physical and control design to work out of the Power Delivery Substation Department of our Minneapolis located in Burnsville, Minnesota. This role offers remote, hybrid, and in-office work options. Employees must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the office.

ResponsibilitiesPerform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to high-voltage utility substationsPerform detailed design of one-line diagrams, general arrangements, elevations, AC service calculations, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, ground grid layouts, and detailsOccasional travel will be requiredRequired Education/ExperienceBSEE (BS Electrical Engineering), BSREE (BS Renewable Energy Engineering), BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology), Associate’s degree or equivalent technical education and/or experienceMust be able to take a written scope document and develop a detailed physical substation or control substation design and drawing package using good engineering judgment and industry/client standards with minimal oversightExperience filling the substation design engineer or substation designer role for multiple concurrent projects (brownfield and greenfield projects)Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel, Word, and One NoteStrong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnelLegally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship
