Avant Specialty Claims was founded in 1990 as Specialty Claims, Inc., and is the dedicated claims unit of Avant. Avant is the holding company of several Transportation Insurance related subsidiaries.

The ASC Team is made up of highly skilled claims professionals ready to offer person to person hands on service to our clients at a moment’s notice. Our access to a nation-wide network of transportation attorneys, field adjusters, appraisers and experts afford us the ability to handle nearly every situation that might arise from an accident.

ASC has a dedicated recovery unit whose sole responsibility is subrogation and salvage recovery. The recovery unit is extremely aggressive in our investigations and pursuit of recovery and outpaces the industry in recovery that has a direct impact on our bottom line.

About the Position:

An ideal candidate for the Recovery Specialist position must have a clear understanding of how the role impacts Avant Specialty Claims and our customers profitability. Practical knowledge of how to investigate the underlying claims and apply applicable laws to maximize our return.

Key Responsibilities:

Adjudicate subrogation claims across all lines of business under the technical direction of the Director of Subrogation.

Negotiate settlements within a predetermined authority.

Act as a resource for claims adjusters.

Resolve complex issues regarding liability across all U.S. states.

Identify, assign, and coordinate the assignment and coordination of legal and expert resources to assist in case resolution.

Prepare reports for Sr. Management and file documentation.

Apply creative solutions which result in the best financial outcome.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of experience handling Auto, GL, Property and OCAC Claims.

Bachelor’s degree or additional years of claims experience

Ability to obtain and maintain applicable licensing.

Must possess a strong customer focus.

Effective time management skills.

Ability to affectively prioritize workload while handling multiple tasks and deadlines.

Ability to articulate financial data to management.

Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement.

Work Location:

This role can either be hybrid or remote.

Salary

Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
