The Student Support Advisor provides a range of school-wide services to new and returning students and their families to help set the right tone for their academic success in the virtual school program. The position works with all student support roles including learning coach programming and serves in various groups to provide critical training, facilitate academic engagement, and promote effective communication practices between parents, teachers and support staff.

The position offers a pay of $16.00/hour plus the eligibility of a performance bonus.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Oversee a caseload of students assigned by a school to increase engagement (e.g., monitoring student log in, class attendance) through intervention (e.g., Learning coach training, catch up sessions, time management).Provide consistent proactive support to students using data resources.Provide support to students and Learning Coaches through the Onboarding (Strong Start) experience.Serves as a primary contact between students and Learning Coaches and teachers and/or school administration.Pursue and apply continuous education and training to increase efficiency with the dynamic needs of their students and Learning Coaches.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Two years of college ANDTwo years of experience in education OREquivalent combination of education and experienceFamiliarity with online learning environment;Strong organizations and time management skills;Strong written and verbal communication skills;Excellent problem-solving skills;Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visit, etc.); Web proficiency;Ability to travel 25% of the time;Ability to clear required background check.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Four (4) years of college education.Experience working with the proposed age group.Experience supporting adults and children in learning and the use of technology.An ability to learn new technology tools quickly (ex. database and web-based tools).

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
