**Job Description**
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Student Support Services, the Student Services Associate plays a pivotal role in the Office of Student Services, which serves as the central administrative hub for Boston College’s eight schools, over 800 faculty members, and more than 14,000 undergraduate and graduate students. This on-campus position is integral to the daily operations of the office, providing essential support in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
The Student Services Associate serves as the first point of contact for inquiries related to a wide range of services, including student registration, financial aid, billing, and auxiliary services such as parking and ID cards. Whether interactions occur in person, via phone, or email, the Associate ensures a professional, friendly, and service-oriented experience for all individuals, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
In addition to the public-facing responsibilities, the Student Services Associate also performs crucial back-end processing tasks, such as loan certification and disbursement, student account analysis, financial advising, cashiering, payment reconciliation, and first-year orientation support. Comprehensive training equips new hires with the knowledge and skills necessary to handle these duties efficiently, while the university fosters a culture of continuous improvement to ensure optimal service delivery.
Student Services Associate – 0-5 years of experience: $42,720 - $53,400
Senior Student Services Associate – 5 years of experience or more: $48,680 - $60,850
**Requirements**
The role demands exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. As a key representative of the University, the Student Services Associate must possess in-depth knowledge of products and processes, along with a strong service orientation aligned with the mission of providing outstanding service to students, faculty, and the broader BC community. The Office of Student Services handles over 100,000 customer service interactions annually, making this position critical to maintaining the high standards of the office.
