GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the direct, constant supervision of the Radiologic Technologist and Team Leader, assists in the performance of radiographic procedures, paperwork and related clinical duties. The student position is an unlicensed position and will not perform any duties that require licensure or perform any radiographic procedures independently. Is ultimately responsible to the Imaging Services Supervisor.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs clinical duties within the department caring for the needs of the patients.
Answers telephone in a positive and professional manner.
Assists in cleaning, maintaining, and setting up exam rooms as well as stocking rooms with required supplies.
Obtains consent forms for previous films as needed. Arranges for procurement of previous films. Assists in completing paperwork for pre and post exam.
Utilizes proper body mechanics in transporting, positioning, and the moving of patients. Assists the technologists with moving and positioning of patients for procedures and exams.
Works with PACS computer system to import and burn CD’s and reports for continued patient care.
Schedules patients and inputs orders into the computer system to the appropriate modality/service (MRI, US, CT, Nuclear Med, General Radiography, Mammography and Lab).
Participates in continuous performance improvement activities as assigned.
Assists in orientation of new staff.
Identifies age specific needs and complies with same.
Maintains exceptional communication and interpersonal skills in order to effectively interact with department management and staff at all levels.
Continually demonstrates courteous and professional relations with patients, staff and others and responds to all inquiries and requests in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Current student enrolled in the radiologic technology program of an accredited school.
One year of customer service-related work experience.
Demonstrates effective communication strategies.
Experience with general computer applications.
