Job Details Job ID: 4945465 Job Description Position Title : Student management/Transportation Dean of Students Immediate Supervisor : Director of Transportation Contract Length: School year - 198 days Pay Range: $50,000 - $55,000 Position Summary: The Dean of Students will assist and work with the Director of Transportation identifying students with disciplinary problems and address those with parents and administrators to create a positive outcome. The Dean of Students will also address referrals from teachers and staff pertaining to student conduct and discipline. Job Summary: To respond promptly to all bus discipline problems as they occur on the bus routes. Works closely with students, bus drivers, parents and administration to consistently follow through with established bus discipline procedures. Duties and responsibilities: + Reviews daily discipline notices turned in by bus drivers and enters them into a database. + Conducts telephone or in-person interviews with parents of students who are having bus discipline problems. + Conducts person to person interviews with students and parents concerning bus discipline situations. + Conducts parent and student video reviews in disciplinary cases where documented video has been deemed necessary. + Conducts or reviews appropriate discipline training methods with all drivers and ensures coordination with Training and Safety Supervisor. + Encourages and coordinates safe rider programs in schools when possible. + Communicates school bus policy and practices to parents, students and staff. + Assists and contributes to constant development and reform of District bus discipline procedures. + Archives video of pertinent disciplinary situations. + Coordinates with Student Support Services + Other tasks and duties as assigned. + Required to drive bus when needed. Basic Qualifications : + Ability to interpret and apply applicable rules and regulations. + Ability to provide leadership and assume administrative responsibilities. + Experience working with diverse populations. + Experience working with community agencies and groups. Experience with the day-to-day operation of schools. + Good human relations skills and strong knowledge of child development. + Demonstrated skill in building relationships, trust, and respect. + Bachelor's Degree preferred + Valid Driver's License + Able to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver License with School Bus and Passenger endorsements within six months of employment.
