Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Student Assistant to work in the The Amaro Research Lab within the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.

Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Student Assistant will support lab research activities. Broadly, the Amaro Research Lab aims to improve psychosocial outcomes for youth and families, including siblings, impacted by pediatric cancer and sickle cell disease. The current research projects pertain to areas such as the following:

· Building and testing a web-based single-session intervention (SSI) for adolescent siblings of youth with cancer· Engaging with youth and parents through a Community Advisory Board· Using mixed methods, such as surveys and qualitative interviews· Conducting systematic and scoping reviews related to psychosocial interventions to support wellbeing in youth and families

The Student Assistant will attend weekly lab meetings and work on various research activities, including collecting data, cleaning transcribed interviews, and coding qualitative data.

Among the key duties of this position are the following: Engage in data collection per study protocols. Clean and code qualitative data. Conduct literature reviews. Attend weekly lab meetings. Prepare study materials, such as content for the single-session intervention and recruitment flyers. To enhance recruitment and data collection efforts given participants’ busy schedules, research activities may require flexible (i.e., evening or weekend) activities on occasion per project demands.
